Here's the story of Bienna, one of our best received packaging designs
Viannos is a village on the mountainous southern part of Crete surrounded by ancient olive trees.
Olive oil making here is much more than a tradition, it’s a way of life passed on through generations.
This is why 65 producers joined forces, forming a cooperative institution dedicated to the promotion of their PDO olive oil.
People of every age joined our meeting. Shepherds, lawyers, doctors, farmers, all part of this diverse group that was created through the love of the land and its produce. The quest? A minimal packaging design that will tell their story.
Greek olive oil is a product with a very significant brand identity in the worldwide market.
Finding a concept that stands out amidst all the competition is not easy, and the limited budget available for this project made it quite a challenge.
The history and significance of this collaborative effort was our main source of inspiration.
In order to honor and underline it, we came up with a family tree that contains all current members, as well as their ancestors.
This simple intrinsic design and the black and white palette fully serve the minimal concept highlighting the purity of the cooperative’s production process. Moreover, the choice of these two primary colors allows for inverted color packaging applications. As Cretans are quite generous in the amount of olive oil they use, we came up with containers in various shapes and sizes.
Viannos is the story of a whole village coming together to produce and export the oil they consume daily.
